The following information is about V Series Recommendations.
V Series Recommendations Defined
V.xx or V Series Recommendations are the most commonly used international modem/telephone network standards. The V.xx series recommendations are from the ITU-TS (Telecommunication Standardization Sector of the International Telecommunications Union) and will probably replace the old American Telephone and Telegraph Company/Bell System MNP (Microcom Networking Protocol) standards. Some modems offer both MNP and ITU-T standards; however, MNP generally offers much lower transfer rates than the V.xx series. See also, V.35 Data Port Interface.

The U.S. economy is recovering but at a snail's pace, according to the Dow Jones Economic Sentiment Indicator for June, published Monday. The ESI edged slightly higher, to 31.8 in June from 29 in May, continuing its halting series of modest rises from November, where it bottomed at 22.2.

DUBLIN (Dow Jones)--Irish annual private-sector credit growth, adjusted for the exchange rate, was 0.8%, the lowest since the series began in 1990, compared with a revised 1.6% in April and 15.1% a year earlier, the Central Bank of Ireland said Tuesday.
